By: Eric Minden

With the ever increase statistics of obesity in America, with over 60 million people living with obesity, it is no wonder that everyone has started to become a health nut. Now you are wondering what foods are best for you to stay healthy and not have to worry about excessive weight gain. Organic foods are the way to go.

Although organic foods are a little pricier than others, you can tell the difference almost immediately. Now you are asking yourself what the difference is, well organic foods are grown using green manure which is used to protect the growth of weeds on plants. Whereas with other foods farmers use fertilizers for production increase, also using insecticides to control pests. Also, animal antibiotics and growth hormones are used to increase production and prevent many diseases in the chickens and livestock.

Organic foods have many benefits such as being grown without pesticides, and they are also good for the environment since these farmers use fertilizers that are 100% organic. This keeps the soil in better condition for more growth and doesn’t pollute the air. In order for these farmers to be considered organic, they must follow all the government rules stating they must obtain a USDA certificate before any sales transactions are made.

You can also find natural foods in you local grocery store. Even though these foods are natural, they may not be completely organic. This is because many natural foods have pesticides on them at some point in their lives. This shouldn’t discourage you from eating them, such as eating apples. Apples have pesticides used on them to cut back on pests eating them off the trees. All you have to do if this is the case is clean your fruit and vegetables with water, you can even buy an organic food cleaner that is made just for fruits and vegetables that may have had pesticides on them.

Lastly, remember that organic foods are the best start to a healthy diet. Although some organic foods are more pricy than others it is well worth the money to have a better diet and not be harmed by any chemicals that have been used on your food. Healthy eating.
