Based in the Washington, DC area -- the Redskins are a professional football team which was established back in 1932, 1933 they started playing as part of the Eastern division a venture which extended until 1949, from 1950 to 1952 they were part of the American conference, from 1953 to 1969 they played under the Eastern conference and most recently from 1970 until today they have been part of the national football conference East division. Their home-field is a FedEx Stadium, the team owner is Dan Snyder, and the head coach is Jim Zorn. Championships and important moments: The Washington Redskins has been a historic team which has had a great deal of accomplishments, they have been conference champions in five different occasions (1972, 1982, 1983, 1987 and 1991), they have been six-time champions in both the NFL and the NFC East divisions in years that span from 1936 all the way to 1999. To complement their success they have also been NFL champions twice (1937 in 1942) and three-time Super Bowl champions, and the 1982 season they defeated the Miami Dolphins by a score of 27 to 17, in the 1987 season the crushed the Denver Broncos 42 to 10 and during the 1991 season they came out victorious after defeating the Buffalo Bills by a score of 37 to 24. The team has high expectations of the new quarterback Jason Campbell but it is highly confident on the overall performance of the team and individual records achieved by their players such as Chris Cooley a player who has for the first time in NFL history with at least six touchdowns receptions in each of his first four seasons. Unfortunately for Cooley who got married in May 23, his honeymoon was cut short (according to the player) and he is back training with the rest of the team in order to be in top shape for the 2008 season which is quickly approaching.
