By: Luat Tran Van

When next replace your cell phone, to avoid confusion it might be a good idea to learn a few facts before you buy; new ideas for their use is put into the latest model, often without any real need. So you won't get caught in a ‘decision trap', become educated before you make your next phone purchase; there are some important but basic facts, which every buyer should know, in this article.
Every user will occasionally experience the race against battery life as they try to use up every ounce of power there is before recharging. The result of this being done constantly means you may find yourself buying a new cell phone battery prematurely as your existing one is no longer holding a charge.
One easy way to extend the life of a cell phone battery is to turn off the back light or reduce the brightness just so you can see what you need to on the screen. Some areas of the country always have poor signal strength and coverage but it will still try to find a signal; however this uses up a great deal of your cell phone battery power so if you find yourself in an area like this, just turn it off until you find a better reception. Today's cell phones have many more functions and if you spend a great deal of time surfing the Internet or listening to music, the battery deplete earlier than it should, possibly just when you need to use to speak to someone.
You will often find that wallpapers, ring tones and images that are downloaded automatically will have a charge even though this is not mentioned at the start so be aware. Children are usually the most likely candidates to get caught out like this so if you are buying a phone for your child try to buy a model where you can disable this function with a password.
Before you make a decision on a cell phone it is worth considering how many minutes you will use per month and whether it will be worth arranging for a pay-per use agreement or a pay monthly contract which could be for twelve or twenty four months. Only you will know how often you make calls and how long they are on average but the pay-per use agreement is probably not going to be the most cost effective if you are someone who uses the phone a great deal. You will find that as a kind of 'thank-you' for taking out a longer running contract, many of the latest feature will be included in the package.
Pay attention to any hidden charges like penalties for early termination of the contract as some contracts can be costly to get out of. Many contracts come with an insurance warranty for the phone because it is easy to loose or damage a phone that is carried with you everywhere. You will have the assurance that it is replaced should anything untoward happen.
If you decide to buy your cell phone on the Internet, make sure it is not an old or outgoing model unless you do not mind of course; otherwise you may find it doesn't have all the features you want included.
