Will You Consider Cremation?

By: Jill Essy

In the past, the deceased would usually be buried after death. Of course the case will be totally different in cultures such as the Hindu culture. The deceased will be cremated in most cases. Yet there is also a growing trend for people in the US to go for the option of cremation.

To this end you may want to know the reason behind the decision on the choice of cremation. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of reasons behind. The cost is certainly once of them. The price of cremation is normally lower, when compared with the cost of burial.

Besides, there are less and less spaces in cemeteries. It is not as easy to find a space in a cemetery as in the past. And cremation becomes a perfect option if people find it too difficult to be buried in cemetery.

One thing you may also know is that cremation may be preferred if the deceased has some strong belief in a religion such as Buddhism. Under the teaching of Buddhism, the remains will certainly be cremated. As a result, this will probably be the choice if the deceased believes in Buddhism.

It is a must to purchase a casket if the idea of burial is preferred. Yet, there is no need to purchase a casket if cremation is chosen. A container will still be needed. The remains of the deceased will be in the container before cremation.

When the price is considered, it is commonly know that the prices can vary a lot when cremation is concerned. It will greatly depend on the kind of services to be provided. It can be a low as a few hundred dollars. On the other hand, it can also be as high as a few thousand dollars.

An urn may also be purchased. The remains of the cremation will be put into the urn. Of course it is not really a must to purchase one. Yet this is the choice of most people at the end of the day.

For the family members of the deceased, it is very natural for them to go for the option of burial. On the contrary, it will be very difficult for the family members to make the decision of cremation. A pre-planned funeral will always be advised. In this case the family members will not have to make such difficult decision.
